July 16 – MIFF COMMUNAL WEAVING
Get into the film festival theme to create a 9-foot communal weaving with artist Bobbie Tilkens-Fisher! Bring old clothes and fabric to add to our woven masterpiece. For more info on Bobbie, click here.

We’ll be joined by the Waterville Public Library for a read aloud of The Nest That Wren Built by Randi Sonenshine

Each Thursday afternoon, families and community members are invited to enjoy a story read aloud followed by a hands-on art activity inspired by the book or a creative community theme. This free program welcomes all ages and experience levels. In case of rain or extreme heat, we’ll move indoors to the Paul J. Schupf Art Center.

The Summer Reading theme is Plant a Seed, Read.

We will be joined this week by the Girl Scouts of America!

Participants are also encouraged to visit Spectrum Generation‘s Grand Opening of their “Atlas room” and receive a piece of fabric to add to the weaving. More information here.

Art in the Park is sponsored by Kennebec Savings BankCity of WatervilleHarold Alfond Foundation, and Allen Insurance.
