Art in the Park: Animal Self Portraits

Thursday, July 10, 3–5pm

Waterville Creates, Colby College Museum Art, and Waterville Public Library

Castonguay Square

Animal Self-Portraits
What animal are you at heart? Inspired by Bernard Langlais, the Maine artist who often imagined himself as a lion, this workshop invites participants to create animal self-portraits that reflect their personalities, favorite creatures, or beloved pets.

We’ll also read Major Taylor: World Cycling Champion, the story of a groundbreaking athlete whose courage and strength inspire. Ride your bike to the park for a special prize!

Presented by Waterville Creates in collaboration with the Waterville Public Library and the Colby College Museum of Art.

Each Thursday afternoon, families and community members are invited to enjoy a story read aloud followed by a hands-on art activity inspired by the book or a creative community theme. This free program welcomes all ages and experience levels. In case of rain or extreme heat, we’ll move indoors to the Paul J. Schupf Art Center.

The Summer Reading theme is Level Up at Your Library. View all Art in the Park events here.
