Art Break: Fall Evening, Greenland by Rockwell Kent

Thursday, January 12, 2023

12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Colby College Museum of Art

Colby College Museum of Art, 5600 Mayflower Hill Dr, Waterville

Each Thursday, join us to spend time with a work of art on view in the galleries at the Colby Museum. This week, Kris Bergquist, Mirken Curator of Education and Engagement, will facilitate the conversation, focusing on Fall Evening, Greenland, by Rockwell Kent, located in the Sam L. Cohen Gallery.

Throughout January we will serve hot cocoa in the museum lobby after each Art Break program to celebrate winter and to encourage ongoing conversation.

Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences will be facilitated by museum staff, interns, docents, and special guests.
