There's no place like home!
As our way of thanking the community for their incredible support in helping us achieve our 2025 Annual Appeal goal, we are planning a free screening of the beloved 1939 family classic
The Wizard of Oz at the Waterville Opera House. Come early and make your own wicked (or good) witch wand!
Young Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz and embark on a quest with three new friends—the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), the Tin Man (Jack Haley), and the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr)—to see the Wizard of Oz (Frank Morgan), who can return her to her home and fulfill the others' wishes. But in order to receive their wishes, they must retrieve the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West (Margaret Hamilton).
12–2pm Free Magic Wand Making in the Hub Before The Wizard of Oz
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to make your own magic! We’ll have tons of fun materials to play with—ribbons, washi tape, yarn, stickers, and more. Design something whimsical and sparkly to bring to the movie. Free and open to all.
A Special Note About Seating
Doors open at 1pm. We recommend arriving early. Seating is general admission and we will have a very large crowd. To ensure seating for everyone, please do not leave open seats between parties.
See how you can support Waterville Creates!
