Art Break: To Preserve their Freedom by Jacob Lawrence

Spend 30 minutes with a work of art on view in the Colby Museum galleries. This week, we’ll focus on the work To Preserve their Freedom by Jacob Lawrence from our special exhibition,  Jacob Lawrence: The Life of Toussaint L’Ouverture.

Talking as a group about works of art can offer us new ways to see the world, pose difficult questions, get us in touch with our emotions, challenge us with new ideas, and sometimes delight us with beauty. These looking experiences will be facilitated by museum staff, interns, docents, and special guests.
