Waterville, Maine — Waterville Creates!, one of Maine’s leading arts and cultural organizations and a key driver in making the city a vibrant destination in central Maine, has named Buffy Higgins, director of patient access at the MaineGeneral Medical Center, to the Waterville Creates! board of directors as of June 26. As a valued member of the board, Buffy will help guide and coordinate the efforts of Waterville Creates! as it works to build a strong future for the arts in greater Waterville through the expansion of arts programming and marketing and the creation of the Downtown Arts Center.
Prior to joining MaineGeneral Medical Center, Buffy worked at Colby College for twelve years before becoming a part of the campaign leadership for MaineGeneral’s new hospital. Assisting with the transformation of Thayer from inpatient to outpatient center, Buffy’s current role helps MaineGeneral ensure a great patient experience. Growing up in Fairfield and Waterville, Buffy graduated from Waterville Senior High School, continuing her education at Clark University in Worcester, Mass, where she attained a degree in Biology. Buffy currently lives in Fairfield with her family and in her free time volunteers her coaching and fundraising abilities to the Police Athletic League (PAL).
