Please join us for the opening reception of Verónica Pérez’s exhibition, what could have been, what is, what could be. The reception will take place in conjunction with the Maine International Film Festival on Saturday, July 11, from 5–7pm.

In this world, there are voices that we long to hear, echoing love and loss. These concepts intertwine with our history, forming braiding circles of memories. Through community workshops called braiding circles, artist Verónica Pérez uplifts the values of remembering, honoring, and preserving stories through sculptures made from hair and other materials.

These communities draw from every corner of their dreams, memories, and emotions to capture what could have been, what is, and what could be.
