Based on the true story of the Peasants' Revolt of 1381, Oscar-nominee Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, Hacksaw Ridge, tick, tick…BOOM!) stars as the Ploughman, a farmer who, in the face of overwhelming taxes and cruelty against the peasants of England, finds himself leading a ferocious rebellion against the tyranny of King Richard II (Woody Norman). Forming an army of the working class, the Ploughman and his compatriots march on the palace to demand fairer treatment by the crown—but, in the face of royal greed, the fight for justice may become a fight for survival.

Written and directed by Oscar-nominee Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum), The Uprising features a knockout supporting cast including Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones), Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers), Katherine Waterston (Fackham Hall), Thomasin McKenzie (The Testament of Ann Lee), and Cosmo Jarvis (Warfare).
