A whimsical fantasy tale and beloved film classic! We follow the fabled Baron Munchausen on an outlandish quest where he meets a bunch of misfits with varying heightened senses and abilities.

After the screening, embark on a journey with Maine Master Naturalist Serena Sanborn, who doubles as Manager of Outreach + Community Partnerships at Waterville Creates, as she delves into the concept of "Umwelt"—the unique sensory world experienced by each organism. While humans navigate the world through our limited senses, we will invite you to ponder the intriguing perspective of creatures like owls or bats. What insights can we gain by contemplating how other beings perceive their surroundings? Join us in exploring the implications of our human perception on the world around us and how we might imagine the experiences of other species that inhabit our planet.

Part of Science on Screen®, an initiative of the COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE, with major support from the ALFRED P. SLOAN FOUNDATION.

This film is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund. Call the Box Office at 207.873.7000 to obtain YAAF tickets. Pay it forward! Donate to YAAF here.
