Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Coen Brothers' Oscar-nominated, Grammy-winning musical comedy! A retelling of Homer's Odyssey set in 1930s Mississippi, O Brother, Where Art Thou? tells the story of a convict named Ulysses (George Clooney) blessed with the gift of gab who is utterly sick of working on the chain gang. Ulysses convinces fellow prisoners Pete (MIFF Midlife Achievement Honoree John Turturro) and Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson), both with interesting personalities of their own, to escape with him to search for buried treasure. As they embark across the country—still shackled together—to hunt for their fortunes, they encounter a host of mythologically wild characters and must watch out for a relentless lawman hot on their heels.

"It's a modern classic, and the twists on its greek mythology roots to fit the Great Depression setting are amazing. Combined with stunning cinematography and aesthetics, O Brother is by far the Coen Brothers' best movie."—Zachary-Allen Wallace, Senior Patron Services Associate. A criminally-underrated masterpiece (pardon the pun), O Brother, Where Art Thou? is absolutely not to be missed!
