Mozart's heartwarming fairy tale follows the adventures of the noble prince Tamino and his lovable sidekick, the bird catcher Papageno, on their quest to rescue the princess Pamina. Julie Taymor, the Tony Award-winning director of Broadway's The Lion King, gives Mozarts beloved fable a whimsical setting with dazzling puppetry and costumes. This transmission, abridged and in English, made history as the Met's first Live in HD transmission to theaters worldwide 20 years ago and returns in a special encore presentation.
