Antonio (Alberto Sordi), a car factory foreman, takes a vacation with his wife and children and returns to his childhood home in Sicily to get back in touch with his roots. However, when surprising truths come to light about his family, Antonio finds himself roped into pulling off a nefarious scheme for the Mafia. What's a nice guy like him doing in a mob like this?

A wickedly dark comedy that pits a good-natured man against an existential nightmare, director Alberto Lattuada's Mafioso was notably one of the first Italian films to openly examine the Mafia's impact on Italy.
