Leo Kottke

Saturday, October 18 at 7:30pm

Waterville Opera House

Waterville Opera House, 1 Common Street, Waterville, Maine

Two-time Grammy-nominee acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke has been playing his music and honing his craft for over 60 years. In 1968 he recorded his debut LP, Twelve String Blues. His 1971 major-label debut, Mudlark, positioned him somewhat uneasily in the singer/songwriter vein, despite his own wishes to remain an instrumental performer. Still, despite arguments with label heads, he flourished during his tenure on Capitol, as records like 1972's Greenhouse and 1973's live My Feet Are Smiling and Ice Water found him branching out with guest musicians and honing his guitar technique. For the next 50 years, Kottke would establish himself as one of the world’s most consistent and talented acoustic guitarists, touring the world, charting, collaborating, and giving audiences unforgettable musical experiences.
