During the academic year, the Waterville Opera House offers a selection of performances designed to meet the curricular, financial, and scheduling needs of area classrooms and homeschool groups. Spanning the topics of children’s literature, science, and history through plays and musical performances, these events are many students’ first opportunity to experience live performing arts. Each year, over 4,000 children participate in the Waterville Opera House School Shows program.

Reservations

Click on the show link to access the registration form. Please complete a separate form for each performance you wish to attend. If seating is available, Box Office staff will reach out for payment once your request has been received. Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing.

Tickets

Through sponsor support, tickets for School Shows are $5.00 each. Tickets are available to schools and to homeschool groups. We require at least 1 chaperone for every 10 students. For every 10 paid student tickets, you may receive 1 complimentary chaperone ticket. Tickets must be reserved in advance. Tickets are not available for purchase on the day of the performance.

Due to the already reduced ticket prices, School Shows are not eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund.

Seating

Seating will be assigned by group size by the Box Office. If your students require special seating, please indicate this on the reservation form.

Summer 2026 sessions are SOLD OUT. Please contact the Box Office to be placed on the waiting list.

Each year, Waterville Opera House partners with Missoula Children’s Theatre to offer week-long theatre camp sessions in the winter and summer. The week includes auditions and rehearsals which provide children in Grades 1–8 with the opportunity to learn about the theatrical process. Camp concludes on Saturday afternoon with a fully realized performance, including scenery, costumes, and props.

Cost

Theatre Camp costs $240 per session. A sibling discount of $25 is available. Missoula Children’s Theatre Camp is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund.

Tuition includes one complementary ticket to Saturday’s performance, a video recording of the final show, and a show-specific camper t-shirt.

Registration

Registrations for the Summer 2026 sessions go on sale Tuesday, February 24 at 11am. 

To register, please contact the Ed Harris Box Office, 207.873.7000, daily 11am–7pm. If the camp is “sold out” please contact the Box Office to be placed on the waiting list. 

The number of theatre camp spots are limited by age group and are first come first served. Camp tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Camp Hours

Theatre camp consists of auditions on Monday morning (every camper gets a role), rehearsals throughout the week, and a full performance on Saturday.

Rehearsal times and attendance vary depending on roles.

Each weekday will consist of two rehearsal blocks. Attending a full day on Monday is mandatory. Campers will receive their rehearsal schedule Monday afternoon following auditions, indicating what  rehearsal blocks they will attend. Most campers will attend full days of camp. The littlest campers (usually grades 1–2) will attend only the morning sessions Tuesday–Friday.

Morning Drop Off: 9:30–9:45am
Mid-Day Pick Up: 12pm (1pm on Friday)
Afternoon Pick Up: 3–3:15pm

Tickets

The camp performance is open to the public and is on Saturday at 12pm. Each camper receives one complimentary ticket. Additional tickets may be purchased for $8–$10.
