Each year, Waterville Opera House partners with Missoula Children’s Theatre to offer week-long theatre camp sessions in the winter and summer. The week includes auditions, rehearsals, and workshops which provide children with the opportunity to learn about the theatrical process. Camp concludes on Saturday afternoon with a fully realized performance, including scenery, costumes, and props.

During the academic year, the Waterville Opera House offers a selection of performances designed to meet the curricular, financial, and scheduling needs of area classrooms and homeschool groups. Spanning the topics of children’s literature, science, and history through plays and musical performances, these events are many students’ first opportunity to experience live performing arts. Each year, over 4,000 children participate in the Waterville Opera House School Shows program.
Through sponsor support, tickets for School Shows are $4.00 each. Tickets are available to schools and to homeschool groups. We require at least 1 chaperone for every 8 students. For every 5 paid student tickets, you may receive 1 complimentary chaperone ticket.
Tickets must be reserved in advance. Tickets are not available for purchase on the day of the performance. School Show information is mailed to area schools annually in May or June.
Please read the “Policies & Procedures” document before registering for the 2022/2023 School Shows. Policies have recently been updated.
