Image Transfers on Clay

Saturday, January 24 at 10am–4pm

Ticonic Gallery + Studios

Art of Clay Studio, Paul J. Schupf Art Center, 93 Main Street, Waterville

As part of Community Maker Days, visiting artist Devin McDonald will share a fun and accessible image transfer technique. Using newsprint, underglazes, and slips, Devin will lead participants through the process of creating designs and transferring them onto soft to leather-hard clay.

Participants are encouraged to bring smooth, softly curved, or flat-sided clay pieces suitable for transfers (keep them wet or leather-hard until the workshop). Alternatively, participants can create transfers on slabs that we’ll roll out and build with during the session.

There will be a 30-minute lunch break.

All necessary materials are included. Finished work can be left to be fired and will be available to pick up two weeks after the workshop is completed.

Age: Adults 18+
Limit: 12 participants
Cost: $76
Price includes a $1 handling fee. A portion of all ticket fees are designated to support the Youth Arts Access Fund.
