As part of
Community Maker Days, visiting artist
Devin McDonald will share a fun and accessible image transfer technique. Using newsprint, underglazes, and slips, Devin will lead participants through the process of creating designs and transferring them onto soft to leather-hard clay.
Participants are encouraged to bring smooth, softly curved, or flat-sided clay pieces suitable for transfers (keep them wet or leather-hard until the workshop). Alternatively, participants can create transfers on slabs that we’ll roll out and build with during the session.
There will be a 30-minute lunch break.
All necessary materials are included. Finished work can be left to be fired and will be available to pick up two weeks after the workshop is completed.
