Post-film Q&A with screenwriter Mark Poirier!

Reception before the film at 6pm.

Johanna Parry, a quiet caregiver, starts a new job working for an elderly Mr. McCauley and his teenage granddaughter Sabitha. A cruel trick by Sabitha lands Johanna in an awkward one-way relationship with Ken, Sabitha's estranged father. But Johanna’s courage changes everything.

The film will be followed by a discussion with Mark Poirier, who wrote the screenplay. Poirier’s other screenplays are for the movies Smart People and Goats. He will be joining Colby College’s English Department and Creative Writing Program to teach a screenwriting course this spring. Colby established the Jennifer Jahrling Forese Writer-in-Residence Program in Creative Writing in 2019 to build on its strengths in the literary arts and humanities. The residency is the vision of Trustee James A. Forese and Jennifer Forese, parents of Colby graduates from the Classes of 2016 and 2018.

This event is sold out.
