The Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship
See the full series

When Railroad Square first opened in 1978, there were two “cult” films that could be relied on to bring in a happy audience every time, full of both “first-timers” and returnees, many for literally dozens of times. One was HAROLD AND MAUDE, Hal Ashby’s definingly offbeat comedy about the friendship between a life-loving older woman (Ruth Gordon) and a bizarre, death-obsessed young man (MIFF Mid-Life honoree Bud Cort.)
