Join us for an in-person poetry workshop with Arisa White, assistant professor of English and creative writing at Colby College. Participants will engage with the exhibition Bob Thompson: This House Is Mine, spending time with multiple works of art before arranging, mixing, and remixing their own words to reflect the pattern and mood of one selected Bob Thompson painting.

This one-hour workshop is free and open to anyone ages 13 and older. All materials, as well as light refreshments, will be provided. Due to limited capacity, pre-registration is required here.

Arisa White is the author of several poetry collections. Her most recent work is the poetic memoir, Who’s Your Daddy. She is the co-editor of the anthology Home Is Where You Queer Your Heart and co-author of Biddy Mason Speaks Up, the second book in the Fighting for Justice Series for young readers, which won the Maine Literary Award for Young People’s Literature. As the creator of the Beautiful Things Project, Arisa curates poetic collaborations that center narratives of queer people of color. She is a Cave Canem fellow and serves on the board of directors for Foglifter and is a community board member for Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance.
