A monthly, arts-based professional development opportunity open to all educators. Learn from artists across disciplines techniques and tools you can bring back to your classrooms to support learning in all subject matter areas, build classroom community, and find practices to support your own wellness. Provided in partnership between Colby College Arts Office and Waterville Public Schools. WPS educators receive one hour of professional development credits.

There is no better way to unbend that sore back and tight neck than an hour of Tai Chi exercise! Loosen up those tight hips, knees and ankles and get the blood flowing again with careful focused breathing and movement. This free workshop is for all ages, abilities, and levels of experience.

Tara Weaver began training in a variety of martial arts styles beginning in 2012 with professional fighters and trainers at Redline Fight Sports in Cambridge, MA.  Since 2015 she has competed in multiple International Kuo Shu Championship Tournaments under the coaching of Henry Lee.  In 2019 she placed in several categories, including 4th in Adult Advanced Short Weapon, 2nd in Advanced Kung Fu Northern Style, and 1st in Adult Advanced Tai Chi (Wudang Style). Following in the steps of her many excellent teachers, Tara strives to share the multitude of health benefits of martial arts training with all those wishing to learn.
