Winner of the Audience Favorite Award at this year’s Maine International Film Festival! If you didn't have a chance to see Child of Dust at MIFF29, now is your chance with our exclusive U.S. theatrical engagement!
Fifty years after the end of the Vietnam War, its legacy lives on in ways both global and individual. Everything changes for Sang, an unwanted, discriminated-against child of an American G.I. father and a Vietnamese mother when he—at age 55—miraculously locates his American father through a DNA test. Determined to meet the father he never had, Sang travels to the United States in the hope of finding his gravely ill father and, through him, a sense of familial belonging that has been missing his whole life.
In an unfamiliar land, his dream of belonging clashes with an unexpected reality, as he finds himself an outsider both in American society and within a family that never knew he existed. But as Sang searches for his father, he discovers something even more profound—his own strength to break free from the past and redefine his future.
In English and in Vietnamese with English subtitles.
