Part of our Lessons Learned series!
Bill and Ted (Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves), two rockin’ high schoolers, are much more invested in their band Wyld Stallyns than they are their studies. They need to pass their history class, otherwise they won’t graduate high school—if that happens, Ted’s dad plans to ship him off to military school and break up the band for good. Bogus! As Bill and Ted try to figure out how to save their band, they are visited by phone-booth-time-machine-wielding Rufus (George Carlin), a member of the utopian future that Bill and Ted—known to the future as the “Two Great Ones”—made possible. Rufus is tasked with ensuring their success in history class, showing them how to use the phone booth. As time travel shenanigans ensue and historical figures interact with Bill and Ted, the titular duo race against the clock to secure the future of Wyld Stallyns and the future of humanity. Rampant with air guitar solos and quotable lines, this classic is best described with one word: “Excellent!”
