Thursday, February 23, 2023

12–12:30pm

Colby College Museum of Art

Colby College, 5600 Mayflower Hill Dr, Waterville

Each Thursday, join us to spend time with a work of art on view in the galleries at the Colby Museum. This week, Megan Adams, Anne Lunder Leland Curatorial Fellow, will facilitate the conversation, focusing on Shea Doing Crochet Braids in her Cousin Andrea’s Hair for Andrea’s Cousin’s Wedding, Flint, Michigan, from the series Flint is Family, 2016, by LaToya Ruby Frazier, located in the Upper Jetté Gallery.

Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences will be facilitated by museum staff, interns, docents, and special guests.
