Each Thursday, join us to spend time with a work of art on view in the galleries at the Colby Museum. This week, Jillian Impastato, Mirken Coordinator of Campus and Community Collaboration, will facilitate the conversation focusing on Joel Sternfeld’s Scott and Helen Nearing at Forest Farm, Harborside, Maine. The work is located in the Cohen Gallery.
Throughout January we will serve hot cocoa in the museum lobby after each Art Break program to celebrate winter and to encourage ongoing conversation.
Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself. These looking experiences will be facilitated by museum staff, interns, docents, and special guests.
