A PROPHET, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes in 2009, is the story of Malik El Djebena, a 19-year-old, illiterate Franco-Algerian inmate who’s been sentenced to six years in prison and the “thick network of warring tribes he finds himself mired in and ultimately forced to master” (Variety).
