Karin Kallio

Karin has been working with clay on and off for about eight years. In 2018, Karin took her first pottery class at Waterville Creates and found she was hooked! She has been a studio member since 2024. Karin enjoys working on the wheel as well as hand-building.

Monica McCaw

Monica McCaw, from Medellín, Colombia, moved to Maine in 2010. She is a Lean Manufacturing Engineer and Wellness Coordinator at a great company in Pittsfield, ME. In 2019, Monica took her first pottery class at Waterville Creates (Hathaway Creative Center) and discovered a passion for clay. She enjoys making small pieces like mini-dishes and creating charms for jewelry, with a favorite being essential-oil diffuser necklaces. The back of each pendant is left unglazed to keep the clay porous, so it can absorb the oil for aromatherapy.

Carmela Thompson

Carmela has been keeping her hands busy, mostly in Maine, for as long as she’s been on this Earth. She knitted and baked while raising her sons and, for many years, kept the books for her family business. Carmela has been a studio member since 2023. She enjoys making wheel thrown pottery and spends much of her free time in the studio.
