A 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain (portrayed brilliantly by Dominic Sessa,
The Holdovers) travels to Provincetown and stumbles into the chaotic world of a restaurant kitchen owned by the aptly-named "Chef" (Oscar-nominee Antonio Banderas), setting off a summer that will shape the course of his life.
Featuring performances from Emilia Jones (who delivered a powerful perfomance in
CODA) and Leo Woodall (the star of
Tuner, which had two separate recent runs at the Maine Film Center), there's not much more you need to know about
Tony before seeing it than what the late Bourdain himself said about this period of his life: "I was—to be frank—a spoiled, miserable, narcissistic, self-destructive, and thoughtless young lout, and badly in need of a good *ss-kicking."
