Educator Professional Development: Waterville Food Stories

Thursday, February 2, 2023

3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Colby Arts Office and Center for Book & Print

Greene Block + Studios, 18 Main St, Waterville

A monthly, arts-based professional development opportunity open to all educators. Learn from artists across disciplines techniques and tools you can bring back to your classrooms to support learning in all subject matter areas, build classroom community, and find practices to support your own wellness. Provided in partnership between Colby College Arts Office and Waterville Public Schools. WPS educators receive one hour of professional development credits.

This month, add your story to Waterville Food Stories with the Center for Book & Print.

Waterville Food Stories invites everyone in Waterville to contribute their stories about food for inclusion in a community cookbook printed and handbound at the Center for Book & Print. For this professional development session, learn about artistic annotation with poet Tyler French and print your own annotated food story on the risograph machine with Visual Art Librarian Fannie Ouyang. Participants will walk away with a unique print and have the option of contributing their print for inclusion in the cookbook. Please bring a copy of a recipe that is meaningful to you and any print or photograph materials you’d like to collage (there will be additional materials available for all to use).

Contact Colby Arts Office Program Manager Tyler French at [email protected] if you have any questions.
