Saint Joseph Maronite Catholic Church

Winslow VFW, 175 Veteran Drive, Winslow

Saint Joseph Maronite Catholic Church holds its annual Hafli, a celebration of Lebanese culture through authentic food, music, and dance.

This event has been a proud tradition in the City of Waterville for over half a century, showcasing the Lebanese community, a driving force in commerce and leadership for central Maine in the 20th century. The descendants of these pioneering individuals continue to carry on the storied tradition by sharing their love of Lebanese food and culture in the form of the Hafli: a festival full of exotic cuisine, energetic dancing, and authentic live music.

A crowd favorite, George Maalouf and his band will be traveling all the way from Boston to perform a variety of traditional and current Lebanese songs and teach the many different dance steps that make for a fun and entertaining party event. Whether you’re new to Lebanese dancing or an accomplished master, all are welcome to join in and move across the floor.

In addition to live music, there will be a cash bar, a 50-50 raffle, chances to win gift baskets from local businesses, games for the kids, and, above all, plenty of Lebanese food for take-out or dine in. Weather permitting, there will be outdoor seating as well.

This event is free and open to the public. All proceeds and donations will go towards the church building fund to help support this historic and cultural place of worship. The family of St. Joseph’s looks forward to seeing everyone at this event. Yalla!
