Visiting Clay Artist Series: Ceramic Birdhouses

June 24

10-2pm

Ticonic Gallery + Studios

Ticonic Clay Studio, 93 Main St. Waterville

Ticonic Clay Studio is pleased to announce its second Visiting Clay Artist Series. This welcoming, hands-on program will allow participants to work closely with professional and practicing ceramic artists to learn unique pottery methods. Each visiting artist is a master of their field, chosen for their distinct style and expertise. Join us for this special opportunity to meet and learn from members of our vibrant creative community.

Cherie will lead this beginner level hand building workshop, through a variety of hand building techniques including, slab construction and coiling. Students will experiment with textures created by carving for surface design. Cherie will lead step by step instructions to make a unique birdhouse, that can be hung outside. Cherie is a ceramic artist working from her home studio situated in the foothills of western Maine — where friends, family, and nature inspire joy-fueled ceramics. Beginners will be given individual attention while those with more experience can work at their desired pace. Please bring a bagged lunch.

Appropriate for ages 13 and older, this event is eligible for the Youth Art Access Fund, you can find more information here.

All materials are included. Artwork will be available to pick up on or before July 8.
