Released from jail after a twenty-eight day sentence, transgender prostitute Sin-Dee Rella meets up with her friend Alexandra and discovers her boyfriend (and pimp) Chester has been cheating on her with a cisgender woman. Furious at the betrayal, Sin-Dee resolves to track down the cheating Chester on the streets of Los Angeles while Alexandra struggles to pull together an audience for her musical performance at a local bar.

Directed by Oscar-winner Sean Baker (Anora, The Florida Project) and filmed entirely on iPhones, Tangerine (2015), "paints a portrait of transgender sex workers and their clients that pulses with raunchy energy and compassionate humour. It’s a bracing slice of American indie film-making"—John Hazelton, Screen Daily.
