Showing Up (with panel discussion)

Sunday, May 7 at 12pm

1 hour 48 minutes

R

Maine Film Center

Maine Film Center, 93 Main Street, Waterville, Maine

Special free screening followed by a panel discussion! Sponsored by the Colby Museum of Art.

Michelle Williams (Oscar-nominated as Best Actress for The Fabelmans this year) and Hong Chau (so memorable in The Menu in a completely different role) star as two artists in rural upstate New York in pioneering indie director Kelly Reichardt’s (Wendy and Lucy, Meek's Cutoff) new, quietly funny new film, peopled with folks you might feel you know. “Like the distinctive artwork made by Showing Up's sculptor protagonist, Kelly Reichardt's eighth feature is beautifully crafted, a modest gem that grows in impact the more one examines it”—Tim Grierson, Screen International.

Panel discussion with:
Tessa Greene O’Brien
Heather Flor Cron
Dylan Hausthor

Lunder Institute for American Art resident fellows

Moderated by Donna McNeill
Founding Executive Director, Ellis-Beauregard Foundation
