Get your phones and digital cameras ready!
Ticonic Gallery is thrilled to partner with Maine photographer, John Meader to offer an immersive, hands-on, digital photography workshop. This workshop will cover topics including composition, style, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. This class will include a ‘photography walk’ in downtown Waterville where students will take photographs as part of the learning experience. The day will conclude with a gentle critique of the images taken that day. Any cellphone or digital camera is suitable for this program. A general overview of photography editing software such as Lightroom and Photoshop will be covered.
Each student will have an opportunity to compose, shoot, and process an image incorporating new skills from the workshop. Join us for a creative, fun-filled day with other inspired photographers.
John Meader started taking pictures on a family trip cross country in 1978. His first solo show in August 2017 was titled Perspectives. It featured nearly 60 photographs, and is the subject of a video also called Perspectives with original music inspired by the show written by Shawn Burke. John has been the staff photographer at the Maine International Film Festival since 2017 and conducted numerous photography workshops at the Maine Canoe Symposium since 2000.
