Visiting Clay Artist Series Pinch Pots for Everyone
with Siem Van Der Ven
All levels of expertise welcome. This event is eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund.
Ticonic Clay Studio is pleased to announce its inaugural Visiting Clay Artist Series. This welcoming, hands-on program will allow participants to work closely with professional and practicing ceramic artists to learn unique pottery methods. Each visiting artist is a master of their field, chosen for their distinct style and expertise. Join us for this special opportunity to meet and learn from members of our vibrant creative community.
Let’s pinch, paddle, and punch clay together. Let’s squeeze it, slap it, and shape it into surprising forms. Let’s learn to be patient and to be bold. Let’s learn to listen as our hands talk with the clay. Through a series of exercises and strategies inspired by the seminal teaching of Paulus Berensohn (author of Finding One’s Way with Clay), participants will create cups, bowls, and hollow forms. This class is for beginners and experts alike. We will be learning from each other. Let’s have fun together! Bring a bag lunch.
