A mash-up of art, comedy, and history, sure to make you laugh and think, No Straight Lines: The Rise of Queer Comics features the remarkable stories of five scrappy and pioneering comic book artists—Alison Bechdel, Jennifer Camper, Howard Cruse, Rupert Kinnard, and Mary Wings—who broke the doors open and made LGBTQIA+ lives visible with their uncensored commentary and exploration of art as a tool for social change. The challenges they faced, and the solutions they found, are funny, smart, and inspiring.

This screening of No Straight Lines is presented in celebration of Pride Month and in conjunction with the Sports Illustrators exhibition, which features a work by MacArthur Award-winning acclaimed cartoonist Alison Bechdel.
