There’s not much unusual or, really, all that interesting about Paul Matthews (except that he’s played by Nicholas Cage in his best role in…decades?)–until suddenly he starts unaccountably turning up in other people’s’ dreams. People who’ve never met him. He’s not doing much in them either…mostly just looking at them. “These dream sequences are hilarious and usually involve him passing by or looking on emotionless as the dreamer experiences some terrible stress, such as an earthquake or an attack by a wild animal. To be someone who appears in the dreams of strangers is practically the definition of fame, and as played by Cage, it’s clear that Paul savors being famous, even for something he’s had nothing to do with”–San Francisco Chronicle. Dream Scenario is a wild and unique ride for Paul–and for the audience–as things do gradually get weirder and weirder.
