After School Art Club
Kids ages 8-12 take a deep dive into art in these exciting and engaging after school art sessions. Young makers and creators will learn about clay, 3D printing, and more!
$15 per session (limit 15). These classes are eligible for the Youth Arts Access Fund.
We follow the Waterville Public Schools’ weather cancellation policy.
  
October 12 - Clay Looms Part 1
Create hand-held looms from clay with texture and ideas for color. Looms will be ready to weave on week 2.
  
October 19 - Clay Looms Part 2: Paint and Weave
Paint clay looms created in week 1 and begin colorful circular weaving.
  
October 26 - Other Worlds Part 1: 3D Printing
Imaginations get ready! Week 1 will be imagining and sketching another world, including a character or two to be 3D printed. An alien world, a secret garden, a house with hundreds of books? What will you imagine?
  
November 2 - Other Worlds Part 2: Create a Diorama
Using your sketches and 3D characters, make your other world come to life in a diorama!
 
November 9 - Wheel Throwing Part 1
Try your hands at throwing on the potter’s wheel in the Ticonic Clay Studio. With guidance from the instructor, learn to center and pull a piece of clay.
  
November 16 - Wheel Throwing Part 2: Glaze
Add brightly colored glaze and surface design to pieces thrown last week. Visit the Holiday Bazaar in Ticonic Gallery.
  
November 30 - Leather Crafting
Young makers will cut, fold, and stamp on colored leather to create a pouch.
  
December 7 - Collaboration with Colby College Museum of Art
We’ll collaborate with CCMA for an awesome artmaking experience. More details to follow!
