Another World is Possible

The installation at 93 Main Street highlights the work of Hinge Collaborative, a community arts initiative and printmaking studio.

Hinge Collaborative describes their work as providing workspace and development for artists including workshops, exhibitions, artists mentorship and pop-up markets.  Hinge Collaborative designs and facilitates socially engaged art projects, educational partnerships, and cultural events in local communities across Maine.  As a place-based endeavor, the studio aims to foster ongoing relationships and provide a platform to build strong community coalitions, cultural expression, and meaningful belonging.

Hinge Collaborative also offers printmaking studio memberships and instruction to individual artists and small groups.  The print shop has two presses for intaglio, monotype and relief processes.  Additionally, there is a darkroom and printing tables for screen printing.
