Agathe, a clumsy yet charming bookseller, finds herself desperately single. Fantasizing about a love akin to a Jane Austen novel, yet not having kissed anyone in years, Agathe also dreams of becoming a writer. Hoping to give Agathe the push she needs to continue writing, her best friend Félix sends Agathe's first few chapters of a new project to the Jane Austen Writers' Residency in England. It is there that Agathe meets Oliver, Jane Austen's great-great-great-grandnephew, and the two hit it off remarkably poorly—but sharp verbal sparring between the duo may hide tender feelings, and Agathe realizes that real life romance is not at all similar to her favorite novels.

"Part homage, part referendum on all those love stories that make it look easy, [director Laura Piani’s] just-jaded-enough alternative fills the regrettable gap left by such feel-good classics as Four Weddings and a Funeral and the Austen-inspired Bridget Jones’s Diary."—Peter Debruge, Variety.

In English and in French with English subtitles.
