Ukuleles at the Library

If you play the Ukulele, are learning, or are just curious, join the Ukulele Group on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at the Waterville Public Library from 5:30-7pm.

The  group is informal, participants learn from each other and enjoy strumming and singing all kinds of music.

Coaching is available and there are instruments to try if you don’t have your own.

The group uses “The Daily Uke, 365 Songs for Better Living” by Liz and Jim Beloff, but continue to glean songs from other sources. The Library has copies has of both Liz and Jim’s books to check out.

Home School Hub for October!

Homeschoolers are invited to meet at the Waterville Public Library every Thursday from 1:30-2:30pm for games, crafts, speakers, and more! There is an activity in the Children’s department for attendees in 1st-6th grade, and an activity in the Bartlett Room for Teens for attendees in 6th-12th grade. The activity changes every week.

Looking for a way to brighten up your child’s day? Bring them on down to the Waterville Public Library for Crafternoons! Drop in anytime between 2:30 and 4PM every Tuesday to participate in a fun craft. We do something different every week!

October 1: Paper Roll Apple Core
October 8: Recycled Glass Jar Luminaries
October 15: Paper Plate Spiderwebs
October 22: Cut Out Jack-O-Lanterns
October 29: Skeleton Sugar Masks

Children under 7 must be accompanied by a grown-up helper.

Rhymetime: for Babies, Toddlers and Their Grownups!

Babies are born ready to learn! By singing, clapping, and sharing stories with their grownups, children from birth to age 3 gain valuable skills and knowledge for later learning success. Join us for a half-hour of active fun in the Children’s department on Friday,10:30-11am at the Waterville Public Library!

Fall Book Sale @ Waterville Public Library

Looking for your next favorite book? Stop by the Waterville Public Library during library hours from Saturday, October 5th through Saturday October 19th and check out our Fall Book Sale featuring a wide selection of materials for all ages!

The sale officially opens at 10am on Saturday 10/5, but there will be a preview from 9-10am for an additional $5 donation! 

All sales are by donation! The book sale is open any time during library hours. Please note that the library is not open on Sundays, and will be closed on Monday 10/14 for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

The first day of this event is hosted in conjunction with Maine Craft Weekend!
