Facebook Live Rhymetime!

Join Mrs. Liz from the Waterville Public Library today! She will be hosting Rhymetime over Facebook Live  at 10:30am right on the Library’s Facebook page . We might not be physically in the Library, but Mrs. Liz would still love you have you and your child come sing and read with her! Interact through the comments below the video as it’s happening!
If you don’t have something to use as a shaker egg already, here’s Mrs. Liz’s “How to Make a Shaker” instruction video! There’s a variety of options to help you figure out what materials work for you.

Virtual Crafternoons

Crafternoon might not be happening in the Library, but you can still participate from home! Join Mrs. Liz at 3PM on the Waterville Public Library’s Facebook page for instructions on how you and your kids can make a fun craft! The project and supply list will be announced on the FB event and on Waterville Public Library’s website!

Kit available through Library To Go July 29th – August 4th, while supplies last.

August 11th: Big Bad Wolf

August 18th: Wind Chimes *
Kit available through Library To Go August 12th – August 18th, while supplies last.

 Join Mrs. Liz virtually on Facebook Live for fairytales, myths, and fables! One or more stories will be read every weekday at 2pm, and you can join us through the Waterville Public Library’s Facebook page!

Curious Kids Hour!

Wednesdays, July 15th – August 12th!
Looking for answers to the who, what, where, and why’s of the world around us!
July 15th : Virtual Nature Walk 
Serena Sanborn will be our guide as we look a little closer to the natural wonders of Quarry Road. Be ready to ask questions!
July 22nd: Make a Solar Cooker
Maine State STEM Librarian Chris Dorman will teach us to make s’mores with the power of the sun and some household items via Zoom!
July 29th: Will It Mix? w/Maine Discovery Museum* 
Students, you will be given six chemicals and your job is to explore what happens as they are mixed together. Kit available 7/20/2020.
 
August 5th: Medicine Makers w/Maine Discovery Museum*  
Observe what happens when an antacid medicine mixes with water. After observing, it’ll be your job to recreate an antacid medicine with the chemicals you are given. Kit available 7/27/2020.
 
August 12th: Slime Specialist w/Maine Discovery Museum*
Students, you will be given a sample of slime.
Observe the texture of the slime and using the formula you are given, you will need to use additional chemicals to make your slime the same texture as the sample of slime given to you. Kit available 8/3/2020.
 
* Maine Discovery Museum is providing kits for their programs to be picked up the week before during Library To Go hours while supplies last. One kit per family please. Do the project prior to attending so we can discuss the results! 
Marisa Kelly from the Maine Discovery Museum will provide kits to be picked up the week before the program(s) to be handed out through our library to go service. Do the project prior to the program and we will discuss the results via Zoom! Registration for each session (limit one kit per family, space is limited.)
