Using traditional yarn, and not so traditional 3D printers, students create inventive and artistic holiday ornaments.

After a tour through the Holiday Bazaar at common street arts, students will make cards using stamps and carved linoleum blocks.

Joy to the Ville

On Saturday, December 7th the city of Waterville will embrace the holiday spirit with “Joy to the Ville” – our third annual all-day community event meant to celebrate the magic of the holiday season here on the Kennebec River. Waterville Creates! and its partners the Waterville Opera House, the Maine Film Center, the Waterville Public Library, the Colby College Museum of Art, and the Children’s Discovery Museum are joining forces to organize this day of free, family-friendly holiday programming throughout Waterville. Details are still being planned but for now SAVE THE DATE — December 7th there will be a lot of seasonal fun to be had in downtown Waterville!

Matt Tavares Introducing Dasher

Dasher: How A Brace Little Doe Changed Christmas Forever is a brand new book from Matt Tavares. Available in November, it is destined to become a Christmas classic! Come meet Dasher. Matt will read the story and draw for us, too. Books will be available and Matt will be signing them.

Rhymetime: for Babies, Toddlers and Their Grownups!

Babies are born ready to learn! By singing, clapping, and sharing stories with their grownups, children from birth to age 3 gain valuable skills and knowledge for later learning success. Join us for a half-hour of active fun in the Children’s department on Friday,10:30-11am at the Waterville Public Library!

November Crafternoons at the Waterville Public Library!

Looking for a way to brighten up your child’s day? Bring them on down to the Waterville Public Library for Crafternoons! Drop in anytime between 2:30 and 4PM every Tuesday to participate in a fun craft. We do something different every week!

Teen Game Night!

Stop by the Waterville Public Library on Mondays at 4pm for Teen Game Night!

Featuring video games, board games, and sometimes D&D, it’s always a new adventure!

The library has a collection of board games to choose from, which includes Settlers of Catan, Exploding Kittens, Munchkin, and many more! There are also games available to play on the library’s Wii U, Wii and PS3.  Attendees are welcome to bring along any age-appropriate games they’d like to share. Bring yourself, bring your friends, and discover new games!

 

If Monday is a holiday, Game Night will be rescheduled later in the week!

These events are free, and open to attendees ages 11-18.
