Will Ferrell and Harper Steele, the former head writer of
Saturday Night Live, have been close friends since their debuts on the show 30 years ago and share everything with each other–beer, sports, laughs, and Harper’s sudden news that she’s coming out as a trans woman. Together, Will and Harper decide to embark on a cross-country road-trip to visit familiar places and faces as they process what this new development means for their friendship and reintroduce Harper to the country she loves as her true self. As Harper braves reunions with old friends and existing as an openly trans woman in a public that isn’t always accepting, Will learns about the trans community and how to support Harper in her transition. “It’s a compelling, lovely little journey about friends reconnecting and rediscovering each other in a portrait that’s tender, humorous, considerate, and more than deserving of your attention and care.”–Rodrigo Perez,
The Playlist.
