Visiting Clay Artist Series: Pinch Pot Joy
Ticonic Clay Studio is pleased to announce its second Visiting Clay Artist Series. This welcoming, hands-on program will allow participants to work closely with professional and practicing ceramic artists to learn unique pottery methods. Each visiting artist is a master of their field, chosen for their distinct style and expertise. Join us for this special opportunity to meet and learn from members of our vibrant creative community.
Create one of a kind sculptures, cups, bowls and hollow forms with pinch pots! In this one day workshop Instructor Siem Van Der Ven will lead a series of joyful exercises inspired by the seminal teaching of Paulus Berensohn author of Finding One’s Way with Clay, in which students will use simple techniques to experience mindfulness while making art! This one day class is for beginners and experts alike. Bring a bag lunch. All materials are included. Artwork will be available to pick up on or before June 2.
Appropriate for ages 13 and older, this event is eligible for the Youth Art Access Fund, you can find more information here.
Siem Van Der Ven, has a degree in printmaking with a minor in sculpture and worked as a goldsmith and carpenter/builder before becoming an award-winning high school art teacher. More information about Siem Van Der Ven can be found here.
