Join us for a tour of the night sky in a properly socially distanced star party on Wednesday July 15 at Quarry Rd, near the yurt, after the MIFF film Latcho Drom.
John Meader, of Northern Stars Planetarium, will lead a tour of the visible constellations while sharing his knowledge of stars, visible planets, and the Milky Way. John’s laser pointer clearly points directly to the stars he’s talking about.
Bring a blanket if you want to lie on the ground, and bug-spray might also be a wise addition. We also ask you to only bring flashlights with red filters so your eyes can become fully adapted to the dark. If you bring your own binoculars, John will follow the evening sky tour with a binocular “star-hop” for a closer look.
During this time of Covid-19 we cannot share a telescope or binoculars, so everyone who wants to learn to star hop, must bring their own binoculars. This will happen after the night sky tour.
Rain or clouds date: July 16th.
