- Free

Marilyn Canavan will speak about children who were put up for adoption by the Home for Destitute Catholic Children in Boston between 1864 and 1954. Several of those children were brought by priests to Waterville, one of whom was Marilyn’s mother and another, famously, was the senior George Mitchell, the father of Paul, John, Robert, George J., and Barbara Mitchell. Marilyn Canavan was a Maine State Representative from 2000 to 2008 and currently serves on the boards of the University of Maine Senior College and Kennebec Valley Behavioral Health. She is a life-long resident of Waterville.
