Join us for celebrity life drawing series capturing the poses of local “celebrities” at csa! This week is Veronique Plesch!
Born in Argentina and raised in Switzerland, Véronique Plesch has been living in Maine since 1994, when she joined the faculty at Colby College to teach Art History. Véronique’s scholarly focus has been on 15th century art and theater, which might account for her choice of costume for this forthcoming Celebrity Drawing. When she is not teaching, researching, and writing art history (she is at work among other things on a book on early graffiti that were made on frescoes), she teaches Jazzercise (an activity she loves and that has allowed her to reconnect with her past as a classical ballet dancer) and makes art as part of the art collective Waldman-Plesch+Plesch-Waldman.
Seasoned and aspiring artists are invited to participate in the life drawing program hosted by common street arts. This program provides a unique opportunity for emerging and established artists to hone their drawing skills in a supportive environment. Participants bring their media of choice: charcoal, pastels, paint, clay, etc. and csa provides the chairs, model, and camaraderie.
