This three-session class will explore texture building, carving, slip trailing, and producing crackle effects on the clay surface. Students will learn how to use clay additives to achieve different color effects with glaze layering. Participants will make and employ press molds using leaves, shells, beads, and bolts to create the surface decoration. Introduction to Wheel Throwing is a prerequisite for this class and students must have basic wheel knowledge to produce their own clay pieces during this workshop series.
