The mission of Common Street Arts (CSA), the programmatic arm of Waterville Creates!, is to enhance the creative, artistic, and economic vitality of the Waterville community through outstanding arts education and exhibitions.
In concert with Waterville’s recently adopted Cultural Blueprint, CSA seeks to ensure relevant and accessible programming for all community audiences.
In 2012, Common Street Arts opened its doors at 16 Common Street with support from the Maine Arts Commission’s Creative Communities=Economic Development grant which was facilitated by Waterville Main Street. The goal was to establish a non-profit collaborative arts space that included an exhibition gallery and studio + education classroom.
In 2016, Common Street Arts became an official program of Waterville Creates!, and moved across Common Street to the corner of 93 Main Street and Castonguay Square.
CSA continues to provide a lively, energetic environment that serves the Waterville community and beyond.
The Common Street Arts Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday 12-5:00 p.m. Thursdays until 6:00 p.m. from April through November.
The Gallery is located at the corner of 93 Main Street and Castonguay Square in downtown Waterville.
