Workshop will cover “escaping the first four frets” and “how to find all your chords” during the first half. The second half will cover some strumming and picking patterns and other tricks and techniques.
Participants need to bring ukuleles; no music stands are needed.
Plan to bring (and use) a smart phone or camera to capture information presented on a whiteboard, or use the old-fashioned pen and paper method.
Russ Copelin (aka “Ukulele Russ”) is originally from Benton, ME, and is a graduate of both Maine Central Institute and the University of Maine at Farmington.
Russ has worked for the past 12 years as a full-time entertainer, the last 10 based in Alaska. He has played in many locations in the US and Canada, as well as New Zealand and Australia. He has just completed a tour in Australia, where he was a headliner at the Melbourne International Ukulele Festival and the Spruke Festival in Brisbane.
KNOWLEDGE OF BASIC UKULELE OPEN CHORDS REQUIRED.
