Celebrate William Shakespeare’s 454th Birthday with Recycled Shakespeare Company. Join us for a day of sonnets, scenes, and songs. Please follow the link to sign up to read a sonnet and/or perform a piece. Contact (207) 314-8607 or RecycledShakespeare@gmail.com with questions.
If you want to read a sonnet but don’t live in the area, that’s ok, we can do it over speakerphone or Facebook messenger. Just please let Emily Fournier know that you will need a phone call that day. We have had readers in Texas, North Carolina, and New Hampshire in the past.
Locations for sonnets, scenes, and songs are still being confirmed.
A masquerade ball follows 7 to 9pm with all dances taught by The Barletts. No experience or partner required. And, naturally, there will be cake. Come, party like it’s 1599!
The whole event is free and open to all ages. (Sadly, though, the Blue Wave studio is in an old building and not wheelchair accessible).
You may join us for the whole day or sign up for a time slot. You may chose a favorite sonnet or you can have one chosen for you. You do not have to memorize! Please note if you want to do a monologue or scene or something special. Costumes are not required but we love them, so if you do too, absolutely wear a costume!
