Noisefest! is an interactive, multisensory experience centered around Waterville. Rooted in the sounds and noise of Main Street, this event comprises a Virtual Reality tour of our town, various soundwalks and remixes, a 2D laser cut map of Waterville with Arduino controllers, and a Futurist noiseintoner.
You can participate in the “Name Our Noiseintoner” contest for a chance to win an “Origins” Colby T-shirt. (Info on Twitter @Noisemakers11)
Adi Snir, Director of the Harvard Group for New Music at Harvard University, will give a short lecture titled “Noise Is A Matter of Listening.”
Come and play Waterville as if it were an instrument and become the conductor of an orchestra entirely made of urban sound and noise!
The event is free and open to the public.
(Co-sponsored by the Italian Studies program in the French and Italian Department and The Center for the Arts and Humanities, and in collaboration with Colby ITS)
